Day of the Dude

The Big Lebowski, the Coen Brothers movie released on March 6, 1998, has launched a cult following, probably hundreds of memes, and “the slowest-growing religion in the world”.

If you haven’t seen the movie (and you really should see it), I’ll not give away the plot. I will, however, suggest a few ways to celebrate.

  1. Watch The Big Lebowski. I’ll admit I watched this movie once, and was like, “Meh.” The second viewing, I chuckled and thought it was funny. The third time, I thought it was hysterical, so give it a little time to let the awesomeness wash over you.
  2. Enjoy a white Russian, either alcoholic or non-alcoholic. Remember to drink responsibly — I have no patience with drunk drivers.
  3. Find a rug that ties the room together.
  4. Abide. Accept things for what they are and be at ease in the present moment.

Take it easy, dudes,

Debra

  1. Totally agree about watching the movie a few times to let it sink in. Thanks for the White Russian recipe. May we all abide 🙂
