Do Your Best

We’re entering the third week of 2019. It’s the time of year when some New Year’s resolutions are still going strong and some are beginning to wane. Either way, we are often listening a bit too much to that inner critic about whether we’re doing enough, whether we’ve made enough progress, and so on. While that inner critic can give us important messages, it doesn’t really serve us to dwell on negative self-talk.

In my classes during the last couple of weeks, I’ve shared with students why I’m not a fan of resolutions. A quote from sums it up well:

“Ditch the resolutions. To resolve means to find a solution to a problem. You are not a problem. The way you showed up for your life the past year was necessary for your growth. Now is a time to reflect. To learn. To create an intention, a positive call to shift, a spark of magic and manifestation rooted in self-love and backed with action.”

Certain times of year are conducive to a little extra self-study, we just don’t need to be overly negative about what we find. We can work to make a change or simply work to be flexible to adjust to whatever change comes. When things don’t work out exactly as we’d hoped or planned, we can find comfort in adding “…and that’s okay,” to our inner dialogue.

So let’s all commit to doing the best we can with what we have in the given moment. Let’s plant the seeds for positivity. We need it. The world needs it.

Classes this week will focus on creating the best “ground” for the seeds of change. We’ll focus on the root chakra. Join me if you can. Here’s where to find me.
